VENUE AVAILABILITY

While we cannot, obviously, open the theatre doors to the public at the moment, our venue is still very much available for hire as a rehearsal space; as a creative / experimental space; as a venue for filming; creating live / recorded online performances and more.

All of the above activities can certainly take place once social distancing measures are observed.

We can provide access to lighting / sound / recording technicians. Full facilities are also available on-site with dressing rooms, toilets / showers, green room and storage areas.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

The Cork Arts Theatre has felt the blow of the Covid pandemic more than most as we do not receive any ongoing Arts Council funding. And our lifeblood – you, our audience – has been unable to sustain us in the traditional way.

So, we are appealing for your help in another way, by asking you to make a donation to our GoFundMe Fundraiser.

We are about a half a year away from having to close Cork Arts Theatre doors for good and that is not okay. We rent the venue to community and professional companies alike. We are a not for profit organisation that exists simply to serve the community of Cork. The venue does not belong to any one person but rather is held in trust for the Arts community in Cork City and County.

We have a building that we have a mortgage on, and that has to be paid every month along with building expenses… with no ongoing funding. The theatre is totally dependent on rental income and the attendance of our audiences. As we are not allowed to open at present we must look for other sources of funding and support, hence this urgent appeal.

The Cork Arts Theatre has been the venue where many have begun their acting journey, where thousands of Cork patrons have enjoyed entertaining nights out. Please help us to preserve it for future actors and audiences to enjoy.
