The Monologue Challenge

The search is on to find Cork’s greatest orator. After several qualifying rounds of competition we are down to the final 10 contestants at Cork Arts Theatre on Wednesday 18th February.

Each contestant will deliver a monologue of their choice from film, drama or literature. The monologues will be between 4 and 7 minutes and will be evaluated by a panel of judges.

Going by the previous rounds, we are in for a very high standard of acting and delivery in a theme which is very new and may well become an annual event.

The monologue challenge has given many aspiring actors, as well as experienced actors, the opportunity to perform alone on stage which they might never otherwise have got.

The competition is sponsored by Hunters Moon Theatre with a perpetual trophy for the winner and engraved plaques for the runners up.
