The Hairdresser’s Calendar is back after a sell-out premier at Cork Arts Theatre in July of 2019. Perhaps it’s time again for the quiet (and sometimes not so quiet) wisdom of the Hairdresser who knows life in terms of what every head needs as the world moves from one rite of passage to the next!!
But for her, it’s all about the mother of the bride (or MOB!!) as she tries to set the world to rights by shaping the only thing she has any real control over, someone else’s hair!
In a space that’s too small for her with two phones too many, making appointments in an old empty diary from a previous year that she can’t see the point of throwing out (“if you just go by the date and ignore the day…) she plays out the magic of transformation in the only way that she can, in a world where most people feel stuck most of the time.
But sooner or later it must, by necessity, be her own turn to sit in the ‘magic chair’ and take a look in the mirror… and then there’s that text from her sister-in-law in Malaga… who hopes to visit… today!!!!!
“The Hairdresser’s Calendar” is part of the Summer Lunchtime and Supper Theatre season than runs through July and August at Cork Arts Theatre.
TICKETS:
LUNCHTIME: €13 includes light lunch (of either soup or sandwich) and show. Lunch is served from 12.15pm. Show starts at 1pm.
SUPPERTIME: €22.50 each or 2 tickets for €40. Ticket price includes supper consisting of a choice of tapas, glass of wine or soft drink, and the show. Supper is served from 8pm followed by show at 9pm.
Show only ticket (without meal): €10 per person.
Note for Online Bookings: Once your booking is complete, please either print your tickets at home and bring them with you, or present them on your phone at the box office on arrival and they will print them for you.
