The Dream Can’t Sleep
Written by Amber Deasy
“B: Do you think we could have been happy at home?
A: I don’t know.”
The Dream Can’t Sleep follows two young Irish immigrants living in London in their early twenties chasing a dream. Throughout a sleepless night they wrestle their anxieties, ponder if dolphins like wearing hats and wonder if they ever should have left home at all.
This piece is a dynamic two-hander that explores what life is like for these modern Irish immigrants, the relationship we have with home and how dreams can often imprison us more than they set us free.
