Fishamble: The New Play Company and Irish Repertory Theatre in association with The Everyman present

The Black Wolfe Tone

by Kwaku Fortune

A young man on the edge. A past that won’t let go.

The Black Wolfe Tone is a fast-paced and urgent new play about identity, masculinity, and the unspoken battles fought within.

As he searches for forgiveness, he confronts the weight of silence and rage that lies beneath the surface. All the while wrestling with a need to be seen, held, and heard.

Following its premiere in New York, the play comes to Ireland on tour to bring its raw intensity and emotional depth to audiences nationwide.

Written and performed by Kwaku Fortune, this gripping work was developed through the groundbreaking Transatlantic Commissions Programme created by Fishamble and Irish Repertory Theatre to amplify Black Irish voices.

A must-see for those who crave theatre that challenges, moves, and lingers long after the final bow.

Established in 1988, Fishamble is an Olivier Award-winning Irish theatre company dedicated to discovering, developing, and producing new plays of national importance with a global reach. They have produced numerous acclaimed works and support over 50% of new plays produced in Ireland annually.
