Sídh: Stories of Women in Irish Mythology
Sídh is a new theatrical storytelling performance that weaves together a collection of stories of mythological Irish women navigating power, war, resilience, desire, love, loss, and transformation.
Performed by Úna Ní Bhriain, the work draws on her lifelong connection to traditional Irish storytelling as the daughter of a seanchaí. This piece marks a new step in her practice, bridging storytelling and contemporary performance.
Developed in collaboration with director Jenny Whyte, whose scenographic approach elevates and enriches the sensory and visual world of the piece, Sídh blends the intimacy of the seanchaí tradition with theatrical design.
In this shared space between storyteller and audience, tales of ancient goddesses, warriors, queens, and otherworldly beings feel both timeless and strikingly present today.
