Theatre du Pif (Hong Kong) presents
Must I Cry
How do you lift a loss?
…a journey into weighing a rhino
Follow a woman’s magical journey in time as she returns home to search for traces of her late father—transforming a childhood game into a heartrending final quest to remember.
Inspired by the works of celebrated Hong Kong author XiXi and the story of the last northern white rhinoceros, Must I Cry weaves storytelling, live music, and video projections to create a dynamic fusion of poetry and surprises as one enters the memory palace of personal history in an ever-changing city.
Must I Cry delves into the magic of recollection, unveiling a past that breathes in the present.
“Here I am, searching in a foreign place, for someone I no longer remember.”
