Cortisol is a queer coming of age rollercoaster ride through growing up in Ireland. From childhood nostalgia to present day chaos, Sam has been through the highs of first love and the heartbreak of grief. She’s flown the nest, and crash landed back into it. Her girlfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving to Australia. Why is it so hard to make new friends in your twenties? Sam doesn’t know who she is or where she is meant to be, but maybe that’s ok…

A whirlwind story that starts in childhood innocence and hurtles headlong into the chaos of early adulthood, all underscored by the pulsating beat of that all too familiar stress hormone. Cortisol is also a digital revolution. An online community of people asking themselves the same questions you are. Is everyone else feeling lonely? What am I doing with my life? Where can I get a good hot chicken roll?
