The Cork One Act Theatre Festival

The annual Cork One Act Theatre Festival takes place once again at the Cork Arts Theatre from Wednesday 8th to Saturday 11th November at 8pm each night.

Theatre groups from around the country will gather over the four nights to compete for the all-important points in their bid to reach the All-Ireland One Act Final. Eleven groups will stage a wide variety of plays showcasing the very best acting and directing talent. The competitive element makes for an electric atmosphere during the performances as the groups are evaluated by the adjudicator.

The adjudicator for the event this year is Evelyn O’Sullivan (ADA). An award-winning actor and director, Evelyn holds an honours M.A. in Drama and Performance from UCD. She also holds a diploma in Performance from LAMDA and a teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama from the London College of Music. Evelyn was recently appointed examiner with the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

James Horgan, the Festival Director, said, “The Cork One Act Theatre Festival is one of the highlights of the theatre calendar. The event always guarantees a great night out for theatre-goers as the groups that perform are of a high standard and, with eleven plays to choose from, there is plenty of variety.”
