SUMMARY:Three Men In A Boat
DESCRIPTION:[cmsmasters_row data_width=”fullwidth” data_padding_left=”5″ data_padding_right=”5″ data_top_style=”default” data_bot_style=”default” data_color=”default”][cmsmasters_column data_width=”1/1″ data_border_style=”default”][cmsmasters_text]\nby Jerome K. Jerome\npresented by MINNOW Productions\nadapted by Ethan Dillon and directed by Mags Keohane\n\nNovember 21st to 30th (excluding Sunday 24th) @ 8pm\nPREVIEWS: 19th and 20th November @ 8pm\n \nJerome K. Jerome’s classic novel Three Men In A Boat sees the hypochondriacal J and his two hapless friends rent a boat and take a trip down-river to get a break from their stressful lives. How they settled on a boat trip is up for debate\, it seemed like a great idea at the time! They explore the watering holes\, meet the locals and get up to all sorts of antics as they attempt to live the good life and reconnect with their Cork roots. \nFrom Cork based theatre company MINNOW\, this stage adaptation captures the humour and whimsicality of the original novel transforming it for modern theatre audiences to enjoy. \nDirector Mags Keohane and writer and performer Ethan Dillon first worked together on a production of Serious Money by Caryl Churchill which won Best Ensemble and Best Set at the Irish Student Drama Awards 2012. As part of the Granary Theatre’s New Director’s Festival 2015 they collaborated on Made in China by Mark O’ Rowe – “a coarse and sleazy slice of Dublin given Cork edge” (Irish Examiner). \nThree Men in a Boat is their most creatively ambitious project to date\, resituating the novel from the river Thames in 19th century England to the river Blackwater in Ireland 2019. Mags and Ethan give a contemporary celtic take on Jerome’s witty anecdotes. A story of adventure and divilment\, Three Men In A Boat promises a night of laugh-a-minute\, theatrical entertainment. \nCast: Ethan Dillon\, Aoife O’Sullivan\, Andrew Cusack\nDirector: Mags Keohane\nProducer: Phoebe Cotton\nStage Manager: Erin Barclay\nLighting Design: Alan Mooney\nSound Design: Elaine Howley\nSet Design: Davy Dummigan\nCostume Design: Gillian Roberts \nMINNOW\nMINNOW is a newly formed theatre company run by Mags Keohane. Three Men in a Boat is the company’s first production with Ethan Dillon as associate artist. MINNOW aims to create innovative and socially engaged theatre for a diverse audience. The company’s journey begins with a commitment to artistic collaboration. Mags and Ethan first worked together on a production of Serious Money by Caryl Churchill which won Best Ensemble and Best Set at the Irish Student Drama Awards 2012. As part of the Granary Theatre’s New Director’s Festival 2015 they collaborated on Made in China by Mark O’ Rowe – “a coarse and sleazy slice of Dublin given Cork edge” (Irish Examiner). Three Men in a Boat is their most creatively ambitious project to date\, transforming Jerome K. Jerome’s 19th Century classic for modern Irish audiences to enjoy. \nWhat’s up next for MINNOW? Mags is artist in residence with Druid’s FUEL programme developing a new show inspired by personal accounts from Ireland’s first unarmed humanitarian mission – The Irish Rwandan Support Group 1994. A work-in-progress of this development was presented in Triskel Arts Centre as part of SHOW 2018 curated by Corcadorca’s Theatre Development Centre. To keep up to date and get in touch visit: magskeohane.com \nThis production is made possible by the Cork Arts Theatre and the Arts Council Emerging Artists Programme. \n“Ethan and Mags applied to the Emerging Artists Programme as they were excited by the opportunity to create work in their home city. They hope to engage with the local community and build new artistic relationships for future collaborations. We are very grateful to the Cork Arts Theatre for their generous support.” – MINNOW \n \nTickets:\nPreviews: All tickets €12\nOther Dates: €15\, €12 conc.\nAdministration fee on phone and online bookings. \nNote for Online Bookings: Once your booking is complete\, please either print your tickets at home and bring them with you\, or present them on your phone at the box office on arrival and they will print them for you. \n[/cmsmasters_text][cmsmasters_button shortcode_id=”a61ya833j” button_link=”https://www.ticketsource.eu/corkartstheatre/events” button_target=”blank” button_text_align=”left” button_style=”cmsmasters_but_bg_hover” button_font_weight=”bold” button_font_style=”default” button_text_transform=”none” button_border_style=”default” button_bg_color=”#b58e4f” button_text_color=”#ffffff” button_bg_color_h=”#000000″ button_text_color_h=”#ffffff” animation_delay=”0″]BOOK NOW[/cmsmasters_button][/cmsmasters_column][/cmsmasters_row]
